Here am I in my Jackie trench coat (well at least I was trying!) and the WHEN JACKIE SAVED GRAND CENTRAL book on my most recent visit to the always inspiring Grand Central Station in New York. Thank you to everybody who made it possible that we all can continue to enjoy this truly beautiful historic building.
I will be at the Festival together with a number of beloved Children's Books Creators from the Bay Area! You can find me at the Meet and Greet Table from 1:30-2:40 on Saturday, May 6. I'll bring some art, doodles and examples of my writing process. You have a chance to ask me questions and I will be signing books!
The True Story of Jacqueline Kennedy's Fight for an American Icon
The little-known true story of Jackie Kennedy’s role in saving New York City’s Grand Central Terminal is revealed in this dramatic and beautiful picture book. From letter-writing campaigns all the way to the Supreme Court, this book celebrates winning in the face of immeasurable odds and how ONE PERSON CAN MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE.
What a timely publication (March 7, 2017) for this non-fiction picture book about a strong female activist, who helped to shape our world by not giving up.
Written (pitch- perfect!) by Natasha Wing, illustrated by Alexandra Boiger (me!), published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. I hope you'll enjoy this fascinating story.
Chelsea Clinton has written a new picture book, SHE PERSISTED. The book shares the life stories of 13 historical women, who persisted in the face of immeasurable odds. This is a meaningful book, which aims to give voice to anybody who ever was made to feel less than.
The book is illustrated by me, published by Philomel and will reach bookstores on May 30, 2017.
MAX AND MARLA are going to be at Jumpstart’s Scribbles to Novels event, which is happening in San Francisco at the Terra Gallery on April 28th. Jumpstart is raising the awareness to make a big difference in children's lives through early childhood education. I am honored to be participating at this event as an author, interacting with guests and signing books. Thank you to my publisher, Penguin Books, for supporting this cause.
Starting to get ready for my exhibition at the San Ramon Lindsay Dirkx Brown Gallery. It will be open for the whole month of May! Two special events are planned for May 30. Yes, that is right at the heart and during the weekend of the huge WIND & ART Festival in San Ramon. More detailed news will follow soon.
